NAME

dbmail-smtp - Inserts messages into the Dbmail mailsystem

SYNOPSIS

       dbmail-smtp [-n headerfield]
       dbmail-smtp [-d addresses ...]
       dbmail-smtp [-m mailbox] [-u userid]

DESCRIPTION

The dbmail-smtp program inserts messages from the commandline or from
any MTA into the Dbmail mailsystem. The program reads from standard
       input.

       Options:

-n Deliver messages to the recipient MIME header specified in
              headerfield.

-d Deliver messages to the recipients specified by addresses. These
addresses are seperated by spaces. This option is mostly used
for delivery to Dbmail from an MTA.

-m Deliver messages into the mailbox specified by mailbox.

-u Deliver messages to the user specified by userid. This option
combined with the -m option is especially suited for delivery to
Dbmail from a local delivery agent such as procmail.

DIAGNOSTICS

Errors and notifications are send to the trace output as set in the
       Dbmail configfile.

BUGS

The order of the fields is significant. Also, this program should be
renamed into something like dbmail-inject since it has nothing to do
       with SMTP.
