       nsmon - Network Security MONitor

       nsmon [--version | -v | --help | -h] [config-file]

nsmon is a program which can check your servers which are connected to
the internet/intranet via TCP/IP. The checks are the following: ping
and port check. Ping check is a simple 5 ICMP echo with a timout. Port
check is a simple connect(2) via TCP socket. If one of the checks was
unsuccessfull nsmon sends a mail to the admin of that host which was
wrong. You have to define an smtp mailer, nsmon will connet into it
directly and send an RFC compatible message.

The programs follow the usual GNU command line syntax, with long
options starting with two dashes (‘-’).

       -h, --help
              Show summary of options.

       -v, --version
              Show version of program.

There is only and one parameter which is the name of the config-file.
If no parameters were added, nsmon will get the config from

For the config options read the readme.html in /usr/share/doc/nsmon
