system-update — update a Debian system automatically
system-update [options ]
system-update will update a Debian system. The sources.list.security
and sources.list.default APT package resource list files must be
present (see below) and /etc/apt/sources.list must be a symbolic link.
The default action is to use the sources in
/etc/apt/sources.list.default after applying any updates from the
/etc/apt/sources.list.security sources file. If the -s option is
specified, the /etc/apt/sources.list.stable sources will be used
instead of the default.
-h Display help summary.
-r do NOT resychronize the package index files.
-p Specify a package list in place of /etc/update-system-
-s Upgrade with security, followed by stable updates
/etc/apt/sources.list.stable must contain the appropriate
-S Upgrade with security updates only
(/etc/apt/sources.list.security must contain the appropriate
-y Assume YES for all APT queries.
