       zless - 圧縮されたテキストを CRT で見るためのファイル閲覧フィルタ

       zless [ name ...  ]

説明

       zless  は、圧縮されたテキストファイルや通常のテキストファイルをソフト コピー端末上で一度に
       全画面で閲覧するためのフィルタである。このコマンドは、 環境変数 LESSOPEN に  '|gzip  -cdfq
       --  %s'  を、環境変数 LESSMETACHARS に '<space><tab><newline>;*?"()<>[|&^`#\$%=~' を設定し
       て、less を実行するのと等価である。しかしながら、zless  コマンドを利用できるようにするのは
       それだけの価値のあることだと、 多くの人が思うことだろう。

バグ

       zless  は標準入力経由でパイプで渡された圧縮データでは動作しない。  zless  には引き数で入力
       ファイルを指定する必要がある。 ...|zless の代わりに ...|gunzip|less を使うと、  圧縮データ
       をパイプから読み込むことができる。
