説明
GDB が 1 つのシンボルファイル内を検索する際には、 そのファイル内のシンボルをスキャンして、 内部シンボル
テーブルを構成します。 これにより GDB のたいていの処理は高速になります。 ただし初期起動に若干の遅延が発生
します。 プログラムが大きくなると、この遅延はかなり大きくなります。 そこで GDB では、 インデックスの構築
機能を提供して、 起動時の高速化を図っています。
ファイル内にそのようなインデックスが含まれているかどうかは、 コマンド "readelf -S filename" を使って確認
します。 インデックスは ".gdb_index" というセクションに保存されています。 インデックスファイルは、 ELF バ
イナリおよび DWARF デバッグ情報 (つまり ".debug_*" というセクション) を扱うシステムにおいてのみ生成されま
す。
gdb-add-index は、 環境変数 PATH 上に見つかった GDB と objdump を利用します。 そのプログラムの別バージョ
ンを利用したい場合は、 環境変数 GDB と OBJDUMP を用いて設定してください。

"Index Files"" を実行します。
