       zless - 圧縮されたテキストを CRT で見るためのファイル閲覧フィルター

       zless [ name ...  ]

説明

       zless コマンドは、 圧縮されたテキストファイルや通常のテキストファイルを、 ソフトコピー端末
       上で一度に全画面で閲覧するためのフィルターです。  このコマンドは、  環境変数  LESSOPEN  に
       '|gzip       -cdfq       --       %s'       を、       環境変数      LESSMETACHARS      に
       '<space><tab><newline>;*?"()<>[|&^`#\$%=~' を設定して、 less を実行することと同じです。 し
       かしながら、  zless コマンドを利用できるようにするのは、 それだけの価値のあることだと、 多
       くの人が考えているようです。

バグ

       zless コマンドは、 標準入力経由でパイプで渡された圧縮データでは動作しません。 zless には引
       数で入力ファイルを指定する必要があります。 ...|zless の代わりに ...|gunzip|less を使うと、
       圧縮データをパイプから読み込むことができます。
